Driver's Education Fall 2026-VIRTUAL

The State of Minnesota requires that driver’s education distance learning be conducted in a face-to-face platform, which requires that students have a video camera and audio capabilities on their devices. Safeway has chosen a secure Zoom platform to conduct the class. Students will be required to be in front of the camera and interactive for the full three hour class. Safeway will be emailing the classroom handouts and 2024 MN Driver’s Manual in pdf format for printing. If you do not have the ability to print your course materials, please contact tkohner@isd622.org at least one week prior to the start of your class to pick up a printed packet.  Safeway Driving School provides a comprehensive driver education program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and responsible driving. • 30 hours of classroom instruction: Covering state-approved curriculum to prepare students for their permit exam.
• 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training: Individualized, hands-on driving lessons with professional, experienced instructors.
• Flexible scheduling: Convenient class times and driving sessions designed to fit your student's busy schedule, with easy make-up options available for busy teenaged schedules.
• State certification: Upon completion of the program, students will receive all necessary documentation to apply for their Minnesota driver’s license.
