Adult Pottery-Hand Building & Wheel InstructionCreative ExpressionsThis class will introduce basic techniques of hand building, throwing on a potter’s wheel, and glazing. Participants will create pieces of art using an electric wheel, slab roller and extruder. We will use a variety of colors to glaze pieces at the end of class. Beyond the Bobbin - Pattern FundamentalsCreative ExpressionsIf you know how to use a sewing machine, but are lost when it comes to reading and following a sewing pattern, this class is for you. Learn how to understand envelope information as well as the ins and outs of pattern piece layout and cutting. From start to finish, Sandra will guide you through a step-by-step process that will demystify pattern directions. Leave class with a good start on a sewing project. Christmas in July Sparkling Snowflakes- Fused GlassCreative ExpressionsUse fusible glass to make sparkly snowflakes that will last for many winters. Participants will create 2 glass snowflakes. Your design will be embellished with dichroic glass, glass frit, glass stringer, and glass pebbles. Additional snowflakes can be made for an additional charge. Once done, your creation will be fired by the instructor (7-10 days required). Participants need to make arrangements to pick up their pieces from the instructor’s home. Henna WorkshopCreative ExpressionsDiscover the rich culture of henna. Henna is a dye prepared from leaves of a henna tree also known as Egyptian privet. Henna is temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. After stains reach their peak color, they hold for a few days, then gradually wear off, typically within two to three weeks. Learn the basics of henna tattoos and practice them. The instructor will fill in or finish your henna design and take home henna cone. This fun two-hour lesson will teach you and your partner everything you need to know to make your first dance much more interesting than shifting awkwardly from side to side. Learn an easy entrance, classic steps, simple sways, fancy twirls, and a romantic dip! Then, capture it on your camera to continue practicing up until the wedding day.
