Roll up your sleeves and discover the art of handcrafted soap making! In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn the fundamentals of cold process soap making from start to finish. Each participant will create a full loaf of soap and customize it with their choice of fragrances or essential oils for a scent that's uniquely their own. Along the way, you'll learn about the soap-making process, important safety practices, and simple techniques for creating beautiful, high-quality bars you'll be proud to use, gift, or share. Whether you're interested in exploring a new hobby, expressing your creativity, or making thoughtful handmade gifts, this class offers a fun and rewarding introduction to soap making. Participants ages 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Join John Hanson, North High Class of "71, owner of Longfellow Soap Company, to learn how soap is made. This is a lecture / demonstration class as lye is used in the process. Each student receives a detailed manual of ingredients, equipment, process, and sources for these things and takes home three bars of finished soap.

Create an amazing 6-inch square fused glass birch tree themed plate or wall hanging!! –Using, glass frit, glass chips and glass sheets. You will use sky colored glass as your background and add a Fallor Winter scene. No experience needed. After class, the plates will be fused and slumped. Your art works willbe available for picking up about 9-12 days after the class. All materials are provided with supply fee. A $25 supply fee is payable to the Instructor in class. Thinking about buying a Cricut Explore or another newer Cricut machine but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly class will help you build confidence using Cricut Design Space, the online software used to create and customize projects. Through step-by-step instructor demonstrations, you will learn how to navigate the program, use ready-to-make templates, and design your own creations. You will complete both a paper project and a vinyl project to take home. No Cricut machine is required. Bringing a laptop with Cricut Design Space already downloaded is preferred and will help you follow along more easily during class. A $10 supply fee is payable to the instructor at class.

We’ll cover everything from slides, negatives, VHS tapes, and film movies to prints and old memorabilia. You’ll also learn about using AI (Artificial Intelligence), scanners, cloud storage, digitization, and photo restoration to bring your memories back to life. This very practical presentation of music theory includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings and transposing. An ideal follow-up to the "Instant Piano" classes but is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Topics include: How to find the starting note, how to determine when chords change, how to predict the chord progression, how chords help you find the correct melody, how the melody helps you find the correct chords, how to learn songs from recordings, how to transpose, the universal key signature, how to use the Circle of Fifths, how to recognize the most common chord patterns.

You will explore a variety of quilt block options, then mix and match fabrics, colors, and patterns to design eight unique blocks. These blocks will be brought together using a sashing technique for a polished finished piece. Basic sewing machine skills are required. Bring the listed supplies to class.
