Join The Museum of Russian Art (TMORA) for a fun hands-on workshop focused on Russia's most iconic wooden handicraft: the matryoshka, or nesting doll. Visit with traveling dolls from the museum's teaching collection, then try your hand at creating your own unique set. We'll use a variety of recycled papers to design one-of-a-kind decoupage dolls. All materials are included; no artistic background required. All are welcome! Taught by TMORA Director of Education Kelly McKay.

Create colorful bird masks and act out the story of how many tropical birds earned their colors through the story 'Rainbow Snake'! Story telling through mask making will expose participants to the joy of creation and play! Read the folk tale of 'Rainbow Snake' (Venezuela) and then create colorful bird masks while talking about creation and design. At the end of class, participants will then act out parts of the story while wearing their mask! Great for exploring theatre, visual art, and engaging with other participants!
