Game Design with Roblox (Grades 1-5)STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)Learn the basics of game design while creating your own 3D worlds in Roblox Studio! This class introduces students to the tools and possibilities Roblox offers for designing interactive games. They’ll explore how to build environments, add characters, and bring their ideas to life with simple coding. Extreme Robotics: Robo-Wars (Grades 2-6)STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)Get ready for an exciting class filled with new builds and challenges! Students will take their engineering skills to the next level by constructing remote-controlled robots inspired by the popular Discovery Channel show BattleBots. Using LEGO® Robotics systems and specialized Technic™ engineering components, they’ll build extreme machines designed for competition. Working in small teams of two to three, students will test, re-engineer, and morph their robots to become better, stronger, and faster before entering them into a high-energy tournament on the final day. Multiplayer Minecraft: Theme Park Builder (Grades 1-5)STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)Work as a team to create a custom theme park in Minecraft. Use creativity and Redstone to create this world! Possible projects include roller coasters, water rides, a trampoline park, an obstacle course, a boat race, bumper boats, a dunk tank, and many more rides and attractions! Students will get a copy of the world map to take home and expand on. We will be using the PC/Java Edition of Minecraft. Bring a USB drive to save your games on the last day. 3D Printing: Nintendo-Themed Characters (Grades 3-7)STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)Bring your favorite video game worlds to life by creating Nintendo-inspired characters with TinkerCAD while learning essential 3D design skills. Students will model unique creations in three dimensions, experiment with shapes and structures, and transform their digital ideas into real objects using 3D printers. While prints are finishing, campers can join Nintendo-themed challenges and even design their own video games inspired by the characters they love. Each student will have two small printed projects sent home. Printing and material fees are included. Bring a USB drive on the last day. Video Game Design (Grades 4-8)STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)Online Virtual Class: Learn how to develop your own game! Students will create their maze using Construct a visual platform that teaches students the basics and structure of programming. Basic computer skills are required. Home Technical Requirements: - Computer: PC (Windows 10 or later) or Mac (OSX) with at least a 2GHz processor and 4GB of RAM - Chromebooks, Tablets and phones DO NOT Work. - Internet: Broadband and internet - Webcam, Microphone and Speakers - Zoom Installed on Computer, zoom link will be sent before class. - Students should be comfortable using a PC, mouse and keyboard.
