1 Day Horse Camp (Ages 6-15)Boulder Point Equestrian CenterDAY CAMP (Ages 6-15) TIME: PARENT Drop-off is at 9am and PARENT pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. WHAT TO EXPECT: Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. No flip flops. Adult Pottery-Hand Building & Wheel InstructionCreative ExpressionsThis class will introduce basic techniques of hand building, throwing on a potter’s wheel, and glazing. Participants will create pieces of art using an electric wheel, slab roller and extruder. We will use a variety of colors to glaze pieces at the end of class. BobbersSwim Lessons for YouthPreschoolers 4 - 6 years (without parent) No prerequisite for class. Participants do not have to attend a Parent/PreK Class before this class. Skills taught will include: First Preschool Swim Class without a Parent/Adult in the water. Child will begin to learn Basic Swim Techniques through Drills and Play while increasing their comfort level without a parent in the water. Skills will include putting face in the water, jumping in from the side of pool, bobbing under, front and back float, and other beginning swim elements. Pool Temperature Information: Our pools are used year-round by swim teams and clubs. The pool temperatures are determined by the safety standards set forth by various governing bodies for swim teams, which is between 77 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit. We keep our pools on the high end at 82 degrees. Cancellations/Missed Lesson Policy: An $8 processing fee will be deducted from your refund if you withdraw from a class up to 7 days before the start date. Refunds will not be given after that time. We are unable to offer make-up classes or refunds for lessons missed because of illness, injury or personal reasons. Henna WorkshopCreative ExpressionsDiscover the rich culture of henna. Henna is a dye prepared from leaves of a henna tree also known as Egyptian privet. Henna is temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. After stains reach their peak color, they hold for a few days, then gradually wear off, typically within two to three weeks. Learn the basics of henna tattoos and practice them. The instructor will fill in or finish your henna design and take home henna cone. It combines two forms of glass art: mosaicking and glass fusing! Create a dramatic fused mosaic six-inch plate or candle holder. Your design will be embellished with colorful glass pieces, dichroic glass, stringer, murrines, and pebbles. Once completed, your creation will be fired by the instructor (allow 7–10 days). Level 1&2Swim Lessons for YouthFundamental Skills - ages 6 and older Prerequisite: Age 6 years and older. No previous experience required. Beginning Level Swim Class Swimmers will develop a good foundation of water adjustment, movement, and safety. Levels 1&2 are combined because many can pass Level 1 in a few lessons, and Level 2 builds on the skills in Level 1. Class Skills include: Assisted and Independent Front and Back Float Assisted and Independent Gliding on Front and Back Bobbing under and also Retrieving submerged objects in shallow water Alternating leg and arm movements for a Combined Stroke on Front and Back.
