Traditional Southern Cooking - NEW!Kitchen CreationsBeginning in the 1690s, the cuisine of the Deep South was shaped by a rich blend of cultural influences. Early settlers from France, Germany, and Spain brought their culinary traditions, while enslaved people from Senegal, Africa, contributed techniques and flavors that became foundational to Southern cooking. Later, Cuban refugees and Cajuns from Nova Scotia added even more depth to the region’s distinctive food culture. Together, these influences created a flavorful cuisine centered around fresh local seafood, vegetables, poultry, livestock, and pecans. Join us as you prepare and enjoy a memorable Southern-inspired meal featuring Crab Dip, traditional Cheese Straws, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Buttermilk Biscuits, Cheese Grits, Pecan Pralines, and classic Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce. Bring a gallon-size food storage bag, dishcloth, and dish towel for clean-up. If you have a rolling pin at home that you would like to try using, you may also bring it.
