NewBobbersSwim Lessons for YouthPreschoolers 4 - 6 years (without parent) No prerequisite for class. Participants do not have to attend a Parent/PreK Class before this class. Skills taught will include: First Preschool Swim Class without a Parent/Adult in the water. Child will begin to learn Basic Swim Techniques through Drills and Play while increasing their comfort level without a parent in the water. Skills will include putting face in the water, jumping in from the side of pool, bobbing under, front and back float, and other beginning swim elements. Pool Temperature Information: Our pools are used year-round by swim teams and clubs. The pool temperatures are determined by the safety standards set forth by various governing bodies for swim teams, which is between 77 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit. We keep our pools on the high end at 82 degrees. NewLevel 1&2Swim Lessons for YouthFundamental Skills - ages 6 and older Prerequisite: Age 6 years and older. No previous experience required. Beginning Level Swim Class Swimmers will develop a good foundation of water adjustment, movement, and safety. Levels 1&2 are combined because many can pass Level 1 in a few lessons, and Level 2 builds on the skills in Level 1. Class Skills include: Assisted and Independent Front and Back Float Assisted and Independent Gliding on Front and Back Bobbing under and also Retrieving submerged objects in shallow water Alternating leg and arm movements for a Combined Stroke on Front and Back. This class builds on previous skills mastered with emphasis on Refining the Front Crawl and the Elementary Backstroke with attention to detail and developing endurance. Open swim allows swimmers of all ages to practice newly learned skills, exercise or just play and have fun! $5 per person $15 per immediate family Select the rate from the drop-down menu during registration. **When selecting the family rate, select one name only. Do not select multiple people. You will be asked to enter the names of the swimmers during the registration process. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone in the water. Some children over age 6 may require an adult chaperone in the water if the lifeguard deems it necessary. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the pool area. Bleacher seating is available. An admission fee applies to anyone who goes in the water. There is no fee for chaperones to sit in the bleachers.Winter/Spring 2026 -

NewPrivate Swim LessonsPrivate Swim Lessons for Youth and AdultsPrivate and Semi-Private Lessons for Youth and Adults - (Ages 6 and over) Private lessons: The instructor will evaluate the child/adult's swimming ability and customize lessons based on the appropriate Red Cross Level. The cost is $26 per 30 minute lesson (6 lessons - $156; 7 lessons - $182, 8 lessons - $208). Fewer lessons can be arranged by calling 651-748-7442 and are based on availability. Semi-Private lessons: Available for 2 children/adults who are at the same or similar swim abilities Times available are the Private Lesson options. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) CertificationCertificationsThe Water Safety Instructor, also known as WSI™, course trains instructor candidates to teach all of the courses presented in the Swimming and Water Safety program to all age groups; all of the courses listed above, plus Learn-to-Swim Levels 4-6 and Adult Swim. This certification is the gold standard and provides the most comprehensive training for swim instructors. During our swim instructor certification training courses you'll learn how to help individuals enjoy their time in the water safely – and in a wide range of ways. Throughout the courses we'll focus on a number of key areas that can help you succeed as aquatics instructor, such as: Water safety at public pools, homes, natural bodies of water and more, including the Circle of Drowning Prevention and Chain of Drowning Survival. Hydrodynamics, including why some things float, resistance to movement and creating movement in water, swimming efficiency and laws of levers. Basic safety, survival and swimming skills to help children gain water competency. Helping people with disabilities and other health conditions enjoy the water safely. Water Safety Instructors will also learn how to teach: Higher-level swim skills that help prepare people of all ages for any aquatic activity. Stroke mechanics for all competitive strokes as well as starts, turns and headfirst entries. Water safety certification courses, including Safety Training for Swim Coaches and Basic Water Rescue.
