Learn to Kayak
The Learn to Kayak program offers adults a supportive, beginner-friendly introduction to kayaking in a small-group setting. Designed for those with little or no prior experience, this course focuses on safety, foundational paddling techniques, and building confidence on the water.
Instruction begins on land, where participants learn essential kayaking skills, equipment use, and water safety procedures. The class then transitions to on-water practice at a calm, kayak-friendly body of water, allowing participants to apply skills in a controlled and encouraging environment. Safety awareness and proper technique are emphasized throughout the program.
All necessary equipment is included:

- Coast Guard–approved life jackets
- Waterproof case for phones and keys
- Participants should:

Christina Finnegan
My name is Christina and I am in my 3rd season of guiding people to experience kayaking in the state of 10,000 lakes. Kayaking is a wonderful way to spend time with friends and family. It is a low impact sport for all ages and is a great way to travel waterways with little impact to the environment. Exploring nature with others who are up for an adventure is what I enjoy most about guiding and educating kayak enthusiasts.
