Day Trip: Historic Stillwater Trolley Tour & Lunch NEW!

Come experience the charm and beauty of Stillwater, nestled along the scenic St. Croix River. Known as the “Birthplace of Minnesota,” Stillwater is rich in history, character, and breathtaking river views. Enjoy a 45-minute narrated trolley tour as you journey through the city’s past, from its days as a booming lumber town filled with grand Victorian mansions to its reputation today as “One of the Prettiest Little Towns in America.”

Following the tour, we will walk across the street to The Freight House Restaurant for lunch. Originally built as a train depot, The Freight House became the first building in Stillwater to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, recognizing its important role in the city’s history.

Your registration fee includes school bus transportation, lunch, and admission to the trolley tour.

Schedule:

• Bus departs from the Mahtomedi District Education Center (1520 Mahtomedi Avenue) at 9:30 a.m.
• Historic Stillwater Trolley Tour begins at 10:00 a.m.
• Walk to The Freight House Restaurant at 11:00 a.m.
• Lunch served at 11:30 a.m.
• Bus departs Stillwater at 1:00 p.m.
• Return to Mahtomedi approximately 1:30 p.m.

Food selections do not need to be made in advance. Participants will order directly at the restaurant on the day of the trip.
