Introduction to Embroidery

This class introduces the essential stitches every beginner needs to start their embroidery journey. Through
simple and effective techniques, students will learn how to transform basic stitches into beautiful, personal
designs. The goal is not only to teach technique, but to help participants discover embroidery as a relaxing
and meaningful creative practice they can continue beyond the classroom.

I’m María José, the creator of Hilo & Alma, a project born from my love for embroidery and my need to
create something meaningful with my hands. What started as a personal space of calm slowly became a
way to express myself and share what I enjoy most with others.
Through my courses I will teach not only embroidery techniques, but also the value of the process, patience,
and the beauty of handmade work. I enjoy guiding each student at their own pace, helping them discover
that embroidery is more than learning stitches—it’s a way to find creativity, calm, and personal expression.
